For our 6th Valentines Day

So our first valentines day together was during school... and during the middle of the week so we didn't do anything except snuggle and watch movies, and go out to Mexican town in Detroit for lunch which was one of our favorite places to go.

Our second valentines day consisted of going to Benihana which was extravagant for us, but Kevin had just gotten his first "real" art job and it was worth celebrating.

Our third valentines day Kevin and I are both racking our brains to remember, but I was going through my last semester at school so honestly we might've not done anything.

Our forth valentines day Kevin surprised me with taking the train to Chicago and spending the weekend there. It was awesome, we did a bunch of touristy things that we hadn't done.

Last year we stayed at the Inns on Ferry Street, beautiful victorian homes that were made into bed and breakfasts right beside where we went to school.

And now our sixth V-day. It started out with me getting flowers at work! I love it! You feel so old when you are sitting at your desk and a delivery guy comes in with flowers for you, so adulty. After work we took the dog for a nice walk, I gave him his gift. Lego characters that look like us and a Lego gift card, also a snazzy vest. Then we got all dressed up for a mystery dinner. We ended up at Saltwater at the MGM Grand Casino. With Detroit having three casinos I've actually never been to any of them, only Windsors casino across the border. But man oh man this was a fancy fancy dinner. We had our own little private nook with kinda couch like benches. Everything there was fresh and their menu changes everyday depending on what they got in that day. It was super pretty and fancy, and it's fun to treat yourself as a couple sometimes.

So originally I was going to wear one of the dresses I got for my bridesmaids, a light flowy green chiffon dress but as I reached for it this little pink number cried out to me (nope not on the 30x30 list!). You may recognize it from my preview of things I'm selling. I never really liked this dress on me, I'm not a fan of babydoll dresses or empire waists. So I decided to put a cardi over it and belt it. I loved how it looked. The ruffles on the front made it a tad bulky but also gave the illusion of me having a much greater chest, hehe. I paired it with a pair of heels I recently purchased because I had no just plain heel. They made my legs look amazing! But on the downside made me a giant. I never thought I was tall till I moved to Michigan but oh well. I'm getting used to being as tall or a bit taller then Kevin in heels, and also I'm now used to every woman in his family's height at my shoulder. (From pictures of me how tall do you think I am?)

Why does my head look huge?

Anyway I felt awesome, and the food was awesome!! But seriously with all the b-day parties and valentines celebrations I need to give my stomach a rest, I think I've gained like 5 pounds. haha.

And as you can see there are some slight stains on the dress, they are rust drip stains. Do any of you have any ideas how to get them out? I've read about lemon juice and sale but have never tried it.

Since we started making a little money, Valentine's Day has been an excuse to go to a fancy lunch or dinner too!! But we skipped this year because we just got back from vacation... oh well, always next year :)

I love your non 30x30 outfit. The color looks really good on you and I like the cardigan and belt. I always assume that all bloggers are 5'7" or taller. So that's my guess. :P

You two both look so amazing! I can't agree with you about the baby doll/empire waist dresses. They are my favorite and the one you're wearing looks so pretty on you! Also, that restaurant looks so fancy!

How extremely adorable. Yeah I don't think I can remember all of my Valentine's Days at all. Most were probably low-key and I could only remember my first one. That's cool that you can remember most of them. Seems like this one takes the cake though! You two look so sweet and seemed to have such a nice time! That's so lovely! aww.
