Thrifting Help?!
On Monday Jen and I went thrifting after work mainly because I am creating a vignette in my store front for an event the Michigan Design Center is having. I decided to do it on Friday and most designers have had months to prepare for their vignettes I have two weekends. And I'm not an interior designer... What have I gotten myself into? Oh well it's been fun and kinda overwhelming but I think I'm going to have a cute table/room setting. So wish me luck! And I'll probably be a little MIA because I'm just wearing comfy clothes at work because I'm re-hanging the gallery, setting up the vignette, and painting two showrooms... Gah!On our thrifting adventures I found this dress. I was drawn to it's pattern, and then saw how they sewed the pleats to hide the star stripes so then when you walked or twirled you saw stars! And it was a blue tag so it was half off! I haven't been thrifting for clothes in so long, I will have to get back into it. But lookie it has stars all over it!! How cute, and it fits me quite well in the waist. The shoulders are a little big and of course I'm getting rid of the shoulder pads. But what else do I need to do? I was thinking maybe creating a scoop neck or square neck, maybe shortening the sleeves and skirt. What do you think? I need you! and please excuse the iPhone shots.
What do you think I should do?

It's pretty!! Hrmmm, maybe shorten it a tad? I LOVE the stars, shiny!!
This dress is just lovely. i really like it the way it is, but maybe you could fix the sleeves? They seem a bit long.
Thanks for the comment on my blog. I did not get my vest this season, unfortunately, but I did just find a vest while thrifting, so try at your favorite thrift palces. You just might get lucky!

what a pretty dress! the only thing I'd do it would be shorten it a bit :)
I personally like the neckline like that, I think it's quite elegant, I would shorten it though to give it a bit more of a modern twist. The detailing is very lovely though, good find.
I featured you in a blog post, let me know if you want me to take it down.

I love the arms! Maybe shorten it slightly? It's so pretty.
I gave you a sunshine blog award by the way, over at mine. I really love your posts <3

I love it; the stars are so sweet! It definitely needs shortened--maybe a few inches above the knee? And I think a scoop neckline would be perfect. I'm undecided on the sleeves; maybe just rolling them up would do the trick?
