Birthday Faygo

In 1907 two brothers from Russia moved to Detroit to start their new lives and become business men. They carried with them family cake frosting recipes and tried to make it big, but were unsuccessful. Only until they created three sodas, strawberry, grape and fruit punch, and named their pop, Faygo.

Now Faygo has a stigma on it for being cheap... because well it is. And it kinda goes flat quickly. That was what I thought until I had it in a glass bottle. I'm sure this was the original taste, and made with cane sugar it takes you back to Detroit turn of the century. And it is soooo yummy.

On sunday for my birthday I walked to the market and bought a six pack of Faygo Rock & Rye in glass. It's my treat. No cake, but I have sweet Faygo goodness.

Look at all those books I've been reading through! haha.

Ha, I love the photos that go with this. Sitting on the table makes you look like a giant in a miniature room. And maybe the Faygo made you feel that way. Powerful stuff.
