What I Would Wear: Sailor Scout

Now maybe some of you will read that post title and say wha? A Sailor Scout? Like as in a Sailor Senshi? Yes that's right. Here I am, the woman behind the curtain... A forever devoted Sailor Moon fan.

Now what does this have to do with fashion. Um... Everything. That TV show and manga shaped everything I care about today. It got me into art, started my journey in becoming Mina/Sailor Venus, and got me somewhat into fashion. Case in point in 7th grade I made myself and two girlfriends Sailor Senshi outfits. I did so without a pattern and some help from my mom. We also trifted for gloves and shoes, painting the shoes to match. I think that was part of the beginning of my Halloween/dressing up love and my secret want to do cosplay, just so I can make outrageous costumes and parade around in them. Really what would be more fun than that?

Aren't we cute?

And the Pretty Soldiers help me whenever I am in an art drought. All I need to do is sketch one of those delightful characters and my hands begin to flow with creativity. I mean in all honesty really all I have to do is start singing...

Fighting evil by moonlight... Winning love by daylight... Never running from a real fight...

... and bam! there's a drawing.

So as I've been somewhat uninspired by my closet lately I've asked upon those Silver Millennium princesses to help me. Using there sailor fuku as starting points I used polyvore to create outfits that I'd love to wear and I feel that they embody the scout they represent.

Now as you end this post I hope you realize that yes I do have an undying love for Sailor Moon and will always, but I hope you also gather from this that I am in fact a very sarcastic nerd.

Huggles,
Lauren

I made a Sailor moon entry too (don't know if you were away from the blogging world at that point) with old drawings I did: http://tiedemanntribe.blogspot.com/2011/04/outfit-of-my-past-on-rocket-to-see.html You draw so so so beautifully. I want your skills.

we really are a lot alike. I love your outfit here!! Looks like you are missing a sailor venus in that old shot. She's my favorite!! I'll do it. How cute you look! I love how you put together outfits for all these inner scouts too!!!

Your Polyvore sets are awesome. My younger sister was a huge Sailor Moon fan growing up. We would watch the TV show and the movies all the time. Plus she would snatch up any Sailor Moon product she could find, such as some SM toothbrushes she found in Big Lots.
Aw man, now you have me thinking of dressing up as Sailor Mars for Comic-con. :P

I was a massive Sailor Moon fan as a kid (and also as a not-really-kid-but-like-to-pretent-I-am haha). Great Polyvore sets, I woud actually wear all of those, no joke.
