Dressember Recap

So how did I do wearing only dresses for the month of December? Not to bad, if I say so. I did find that I wanted to wear more skirts, and I did feel a little obligated to dress for my blog everyday and not myself. But all in all I feel good about it. I missed three days though... :( So here is a recap!



Days 1 ~ 6 } I was feeling really good and was on a Dressember high. I really loved the pictures I took.


Days 7 ~ 10 } I was a bit overwhelmed by happenings in my life and I wasn't as excited, but I loved my outfit on day 10, the tights Kevin got for me are adorable.


Days 11 ~ 13 } Got to go to Cat's Christmas party, which was awesome! and I wore my dress as a skirt!


Day 14 } This is the favorite picture I took all month, and man it was cold when I took it. Michigan was below freezing for two weeks... brrrr.


Days 15 ~18 } Nothing too exciting, I went to the Michigan Design Center's Holiday party on the 16th where I wore my new Holiday dress from Sally Jane Vintage, and got an awesome red cape on the 18th.

Day 19 } Don't know what happened that day!


Days 20 ~ 21 } On the 21st, Sara, Kevin, Kyle and I went to Rochester to see the lights display and we ate out... It was so good.


Days 22 ~ 24 } You guys haven't seen some of these looks but I did take pictures! The 23rd Kevin, Kate, and I drove down to Kentucky (from Ohio) to get some amazing pictures taken by my bestie Ashley. I will have to share them with you later!! On Christmas Eve I was at my sister's annual party but totally forgot to take an complete outfit picture during the festivities. So I stole this picture my other sister took :)

Day 25 } Christmas! I don't know what I wore, but I'm sure it was pajamas all day :)



Days 26 ~ 30 } So I started my 12 Days of Christmas pictures with a bang, but sadly by the 29th I was super sick, and didn't take an outfit picture on 31st/NYE, because I was sick!! I did go out for an hour that night to go see my towns ball drop, but I admit it... I wore pants.

I had lots of fun!!! Even though in a lot of the pictures you can't see the whole dress because of all the layers, it was still fun to go through my closet and pick out dresses I wouldn't usually wear in such freezing weather. And the funny thing is I didn't wear all the dresses I own! I think that means some need to go to the thrift store. ;) I ended up wearing 23 different dresses. So there were some repeats!!! I found out too that most of my dresses are either vintage or from Urban Outfitters... I really do love their sale rack, haha. But yeah that's kinda cool.

Anyway, Happy Dressember 2010!!!

Five Gold Rings!

Well I'm still sick, so I'm kinda lagging on these posts. But here is my five gold rings... well not all gold, hehe. I wore my gold waitress dress as a blouse and a new amazing skirt from Anthropologie that I purchased with a gift card from my sis. I love it! I wore this to Kevin's cousin's new house warming party, but we didn't stay long because I am sick. And oh don't you love the booties I got? I bought them with xmas money and UO's super sale.

I still have one present that is awesome that I need to share with you guys!!

And as you can see there is construction equipment in the background. They tore down another house on my block. Now it's three that have been torn down in the past two years. Eventually the entire block will be condos and they've been tearing down the houses as they fall apart instead of putting money into them to fix them. It's sad, I really feel like we need to get out of this neighborhood before something happens to our house that the landlords (slumlords) won't fix. Anyway... I still love our neighborhood, it's filled with great friends, and I don't want to leave just yet.

Four Calling Birds!

Ok so yeah that's right you guys get one picture and a detail shot. My camera battery died right after and the charger was at work and then I was really sick. I think I have the flu or something so I ended up spending most of the day in my pjs sleeping. So yeah I wore this for a few hours before going to bed.

The dress as you can see has birds all over it. And I thought the sundress over it would be a great touch, like a birdies belly.

After I slept most all the day I pulled myself together to go to an appointment at Macy's Bridal Boutique... They were having a Lazaro trunk show... and man! Those dresses were gorgeous and it as the first time I ever tried on a wedding dress. Sadly they didn't let Jen and I take pictures and even sadder is the fact that there is noooo way I could ever afford them. But it was fun to play dress up!

Here's what I tried on.

Lazaro 3062. I love the sheer corset top and the low back but the skirt was a little too overwhelming.



Lazaro 3962... I liked this the best on me.

Purdy.

Three French Hens!

I really don't know what French Hens are nor did I know how to dress like them, haha! So I came up with this. I think it would be something a French college girl or young lady would wear in the 50's. The dress is homemade vintage and I love the pattern on the fabric. Isn't it like a French country side?

And look I have French Braids and am wearing a beret!

Ok, ok. Cheese. Too much.

Two Turtle Doves.

Well I know I know, the two birds on my belt are sparrows, but come on, it's two birds! Haha. Anyway this outfit is mainly based on the coloring of turtle doves, which I think are glorified pigeons. Just sayin' they look the same. Kinda tan with a little bit of blue in their feathers. I really liked this look but not my overall appearance. I think I look tired. Oh well. Maybe makeup would have helped, hua hua.

Sorry for the day late on this post. I was originally going to go all out on this idea and take crazy pictures. But I really don't have the time :( So I'm doing everyday outfits inspired by the twelve days of Christmas.




So here is the 1st Day of Christmas December 26th (some people start on the 25th), sorry I'm late on posting but I was having computer problems last night :(. I have a little bird on my vest and am in a tree! Yes it's a honey suckle bush, but there are grape vines in it too! Kinda like pears. I went for very natural colors in homage to the Partridge but added some spice with the pop of blue.



And I am wearing a dress and a skirt in honor of Dressember, which I may post the days I missed on the blog at a later time.

The 27th is Two Turtle Doves!!!

Rochester City Lights

Rochester City Lights

Yesterday Kevin, Kyle, Sara and I drove up to Rochester to view their city lights display. It's pretty cool, they have lights coating the entire building fronts down main street. So yeah it was fun. Lights are pretty, and it put me in the holiday spirit.






We then went to the Rochester Brewing Co (I think that's the name) and enjoyed a nice meal and some beers with an awesome coupon Kyle found online. Yay for being thrifty!







Other than that yesterday at work was miserable. I decided to take it upon myself to take physical inventory of our artwork which hasn't been done in I don't know how long. And I decided we need to have good pictures of all this work. Let me put this in a perspective. We have over a thousand pieces of artwork. I don't know what I'm getting myself into, but it is something that has to absolutely be done. So my first thing is, take pictures of everything and write down the info in a notebook. Then edit photos and save them under their SKU's and organize them in our HD. Then print off images of each piece and make a backup cd of the jpegs, these print offs I am then putting in binders so that clients can look at work that may be in storage. Then filing begins. Wipe out inventory in computers and input new physical noted inventory. Organize consignment sheets and redo hand written inventory sheets. File away stuff under current and previous... Oh and also get a handle on the art that is out on loan.

So yeah can you see why I have been looking frazzled. After this we are transferring our email and then I have to work on the website... then start promotional crap for our January sale. The next month is going to be tough.

Oh and get this, tomorrow is MY 200TH POST (on this blog)! Nothing special planned but a look back to why, what, when about my blogging experiences.
