What I Got: Alameda Flea & Estate Sale

Last Friday my friend Zoe and I drove to the hills in Berkeley for a large estate sale! It was really fun because Zoe is a comrade when it comes to loving vintage and having such cute knick knacks in her home. So naturally we had loads of fun. I held onto my wallet so I wouldn't spend too much, since I'm on a freelancers budget now. But I was able to score a cute german pin, a Michigan shaker, a black and white polka dot skirt, and a teal 50/60's mad men-esque wiggle dress with pockets.

On Saturday the girls and I hung out in SF and eventually made it to Japantown for sushi and ice cream!!

Then Sunday was the epic, Alameda Flea Market. I have never been and sadly everyone was busy, so little ole me made her way through the stacks of treasures to find two of her own. Two 50's dresses. One, which is sadly too small for me in the ribcage, is a beautiful blue and green water print, with shoulders that tie together. And it fits Marlee beautifully! The other is a sheer white dress with gray and teal polka dots, and the cutest collar. I found them at some guys booth in wads underneath a bunch of other crap. The sheer dress was terribly stained with dust and dirt and so I was able to talk the guy down. After washing both of them well they are all shiny and new! Now I just have to find buttons for the sheer dress!

Happy Fourth & Canada Day!

SO I've been MIA recently but with good reason, I've been hanging out with friends (especially Mike whose back from London for a bit), meeting new people, walking, going to the beach with Kristina and Lee, hanging out at the bar, seeing the Detroit/Windsor fireworks on top of a building, and just generally keeping busy. This week we also hired in my good friend from college Katerina, to the gallery. So since I haven't taken many pictures lately I thought I'd show you some new acquisitions to my closet. I'm finally wanting to shop again and saving money for it. I'm much more picky being on a tight budget but with 4th of July sales and groupons I get some new fun!

The vintage dress I got from Lost & Found using my Groupon, and it still had the tags on! The purse, sweater, and necklace were from Urban Outfitters they had 30% their sale rack! I'm going to start using the bag as my camera bag. My awesome newish swimsuit from Asos. And the pretty orange silk blouse was from Banana Republic, it was $16 plus 40% off!! yay!

Pictures from the other night when we had a crazy dry thunderstorm, these aren't edited, the sky was so crazy!!

Anyway Happy Holidays! I sure have enjoyed my 4 day weekend!

Banana Cream Pie

I bought this dress a few weeks back with my besty Jen, who has incredible style, and I really didn't know how I was going to wear it. It wasn't until I took it home and showed it to my mom that I realized it totally is a old waitress dress, pockets for order slips and pleated vents in the shoulders for more range of motion. Which is all what I need working at the gallery carrying paintings around and taking down people's information. So today I also ran outside during my lunch break to get some pics, instead of the good ole' indoor shots. I like the outcome quite a bit, got to work on some of the focusing though. And the post title is cause I look like banana cream pie in this... yum.

Sorry about my face in some of these, it was really bright out haha.

And I'm totally over my hair right now, why won't you grow and be pretty? I should get extensions.
