Baby Bender

This weekend was marvelous, nothing to do. I got all my stuff turned in by saturday morning so then the rest of the weekend consisted of fun times with buddies and christmas shopping. I'm proud to say that I'm done! Well I still wanna find one small thing for my mom and I have a couple returns, I'm terrible with guessing peoples sizes. I'm quite proud of the presents under the tree, and they are wrapped perfectly. Well I LOVE wrapping presents, when I was little I wanted a job at the gift wrapping place in the mall, yep I'm a big dreamer.

Anyway I wasn't too keen on getting dressed this weekend so I actually ended up wearing a variation of the same outfit on Saturday and Sunday... and didn't take a picture on Sunday. I will have to make that up with an extra dressember day or something.

Kevin and I went to brunch on Saturday at Mae's in Ferndale then off to Mother Fletchers a vintage store nearby. And she was having a sale! I bought a little purse, which is to be gifted, a brown courderoy blazer, and this awesome cape with little sleeves! I wore it for the rest of the day getting stares at the mall, but I didn't care! I mean it even has a hood!

On Sunday it consisted of laying around the house watching movies while Kevin did 3d modeling for work. I was expecting tons of happy movies but no, only sad movies were on, Titanic, Deep Impact, Blair Witch, I am Legend... I mean really it's the holidays. So below I included a video that make me tear up, it shows how sweet a show can be (the video is flipped for copyright, even though that's not enough).

Sunday night we celebrated Matt's bday and went to Ye Old Saloon up the street to get dollar burgers, after that the group of us walking raced Lee's car down the street, waited for the train to pass, then went back to mine and Kevin's place for a face melting session of Rockband... well it wasn't face melting but it was fun.

Now I'm excited for the Lunar eclipse tonight, first time it's been on the winter solstice in 372 years!

Sorry for the amount of posts today, I just wanted to get caught up. Now for the sweetest video.

Abandoned Religion

On Friday Kevin, Lee, Kyle, Sara, and I went to an abandoned church for a party. I know I know, sounds bad, but there were some indie filmmakers making a movie it the space, with permission, and one of the scenes in the film consists of a party, so of course invite people down to Detroit to get your dance and drink on in a abandoned building, which is most of Detroit, and frankly the theme of many parties.

Unfortunately it was freezing, actually colder inside the church then outside, so the party was kinda a bust when we were there, but the lack of dancing didn't stop us we all went exploring through the massive catholic church and found most of it's nooks and crannies. Sorry about the poor quality in photos but the camera wasn't focusing well, but I actually think the unfocused quality is quite nice.

Soon we ended up in the balconies and found a ladder. Naturally Kevin climbed it and found the roof. It was gorgeous from up above the burnt out houses. You could see New Center and all the way to downtown, we were on the west side of town.

We then made our way back downstairs looked at the installation art that was also a part of the film and then tried to go to the basement. It was gross and looked like a bum's den. So I stomped my foot and whined so that Kevin wouldn't go in the basement any farther. It worked. And also the fact that his flashlight on his phone was dying helped.

Not wanting to go home we all packed into Lee's car, there were 5 of us crammed in his little 2-door, and drove to Midtown. We ended up at the Magic Stick, my old stomping grounds (literally, I lived on the same block) had some of their amazing Sgt. Pepperoni's Pizza and some drinks. Met up with a couple of our fellow illustration classmates from different years and talked the night away.

It was awesome. And what was awesomer was going home and falling asleep after a evening of fun.

Mourning Her Brave

N.C. Wyeth - Mourning Her Brave

Even though I am not wearing a similar look I am truly feeling this image, it's cold and white here. This was what I wore on friday and as I type, on monday, it's our 8th day in the row that the temperature has stayed below freezing. Yeah it's cold.

I also have a drawing of this outfit, I will post it later. I am trying to draw my outfits, let's see how long that lasts. :)

This weekend was amazing! I will tell you more on it later but it does consist of an abandoned church, a red cape, and burgers.

Draw the Curtains and go to bed

Morning shots... yuck. I love these curtains and hate them, they keep my room so warm and blot out the light, but that makes me wanna stay cozy in bed... Then I'm late for work because I keep thinking I can stay in bed for 5 more minutes. Oh Darn.
