Birdy Dress & Grandpa Sweater

I got this dress the other day and love it, but the button holes are a little big and it's silky fabric... so the top button keeps coming undone. Haha. I think I need to add a eye hook to the top. I think I may shorten the dress too... hmmm. And this sweater is AMAZING! It's my new favorite.

When I went out for lunch some guy was talking to me and said I was hot and he was going to buy me lunch... Too bad he was a creepy old man.

Sara took these pictures for me (she told me to make a funny face in the last one, haha) and you can't tell but it was rainy, oh pooping weather... And yeah those are my glasses, I'm super blind.

Bike Rides, Donuts, & Puppy Parties

This weekend was a blast, and the weather was incredible. Saturday Jen and I went thrifting where I got an awesome green shirt and the most cutest purse. In the afternoon Maureen, Jen, Adam, Kevin and I took a bike ride on the Paint Creek Trail which runs from Rochester to Lake Orion and it's around 20 miles total there and back. We took our time on the way up to lake orion and stopped by the cidar alond the trail for a quick glass of refreshing cidar and yummy cinnamon apple cidar donuts. Oh gosh they were sooo good.

We made it up to L.O. around 6 and realizing that sunset was at 7 we booked it back 10 miles to Rochester. Luckily we got back in less then an hour, just in time to lay on some grass and watch the sun disappear behind the trees.

On our way back I took some fun pictures mainly trying to catch all the deer we passed. We came across 8 deer, at one point I had to stop because there were deer on either side of me and I wasn't about to ride through their group. We waited for them all to cross the path and were back on our speedy way.

I wish this trail was closer, it's about a half an hour car ride away, it was so beautiful and it smelled so great. Fresh smell of autumn. :)

Saturday night I met up with some old friends that were visiting the D. We had all gone to college together and Mike & Morgan moved back to Pittsburgh last year. I miss them and it was so fun seeing them again, and some other acquaintances. And now Tripp has a new friend named Ira. He's a Jack Russell/Corgi mix too, but as you can see with Kevin cuddling him he looks more Jack Russell then Corgi... But the puppies got along great and I'm sure they are going to be buddies. (Oh and see my amazing new bag and shirt... I love them!)

Sunday Kevin and I rode down to Ferndale for breakfast with the gang before Mike & Morgan headed back.

I didn't pick my computer up once this weekend. Awesome. Aaaand I rode over 50 miles since Wednesday. I have my feature ready for next week, I cleaned my house... I think I deserve some oxfords. :)

Think Pink

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Melissa from A Working Mom's Closet has asked bloggers to show their support in the fight about breast cancer by wearing pink. Cancer is something that is very prevalent in my family. Breast Cancer and cancer research I feel is the most important thing to figure out currently. Breast cancer is something that has affected me greatly in the past year, a family member was diagnosed and my best friend's mother in law battled the disease. Thankfully my family member made it through with surgery, yet on the other side my bf's mother in law lost her battle. Everyone has a connection to this disease and as a woman I feel obligated to show my support in the fight against breast cancer in any way I am able.

Please go and see what you can do to help, and show your support by wearing pink in the month of October

Thanks, and here's my outfit.

Kevin got home kinda late because of traffic on thursday so we quickly gathered the dog and went for a very short walk while it was still light out. The weather has been gorgeous, and it's supposed to be awesome over weekend, I'm so excited. We first stopped by this random gate by my house that says "No Trespassing" yet as you can see, it isn't fenced in. Oh things can be funny.

So then we walked up to the train tracks, played around then went up to Main St. to go to the library. Of course we realized it was after 7p and Kevin has Capoeira at 8p so we turned around to go home.

As we crossed back to our side of the tracks and saw a train coming. I quickly grabbed some change from my purse and laid a nickle on the track, cause that's I stretch my money, haha! And then we waited. But sadly the train must've stopped cause it didn't come :( We were sad and left the nickle to get flattened without us.

Fall is coming and the colors are coming out!! I'm excited to go on a bike ride to some cidar mills this weekend and soon pumpkin picking and apples orchards and corn mazes, oh my! Yay!

Oh and this skirt I love it, I got it years ago on sale for $20 at Anthro... it has embroidery and eyelet fabric, and flowers... but it is really big on me(it was the only one), it's loose around my hips. I bought it when I was a little heavier and I wore it at hip level which is totally wrong for my body type. Belting it can be difficult because of all the excess fabric (it's over three inches too big). But this belt really helps, and it doesn't look too bad. Now I just have to finally choose to get it professionally tailored, or tailor it myself, or put it back in the closet and put off trying to make it fit. Oh but I love it so!

So Kev went to Capoeira class and I sat home and watched Bones, and NBC comedy night! Oh I love it!! And yes my porch has a slide.

With fashion weeks in full swing it would have been easy for the IFB fold to post multiple photos and call it a day. Hats off to these dedicated writers for continuing to pump out original content on often thorny issues (negative blogging anyone?). In particular it was nice to finally see more than one male blogger throwing his hat into the ring. Dressed for Dinner - we salute you and your lovely beard.
