Fav. Friday & Oxford Me Please

Here are my Starred/Fav'ed things from Google Reader this Week:

Design Sponge } Flowers A-Z

I love doing floral arrangements, even though I have a huge yard to plant tons of flowers all over the place I don't do it... I want bouquets in my house all the time, flowers are the prettiest thing. And Anemones are so delicately beautiful.

All This Happiness } Too Much of a Thing

I love this outfit, and I love all of Kate's outfits, but this post really says something to me. Sometimes you get bored with your look whether it's cute and prim or not very stylish. And when your in that stage it can be tough to find your voice. But this outfit still is magnificent to me. I love the jacket and the contrast of the stripes.

Mod Cloth } Fav Looks from Paris Fashion Week

I agree with Julie the Modcloth stylist. This is my favorite look. It's just breathtaking. And blue, my favorite.

Vilhelm Hammershøi's paintings via Audrey Kawasaki's blog

I love this painter so much... the images are amazing.

Sea of Fertility } Military Mode

I love Nancy, it's one of the first fashion blogs I followed, how she mixes her drawing with fashion is amazing, and her taste is incredible. If I could have one thing from her wardrobe I'd be in heaven.

YeYe! Style } Puces Pop 2010

This outfit is perfect, impecable. I want it now. The purple, burgendy and plaid are just amazing. And the layering makes it look so comfortable. Plus she's wearing YarnOverMovement by Tara Lynn who is another fashionable lady I've been following for sometime.

Lost in E Minor } Lego Logan's Run

Um can I say awesome. This is mainly for Kevin who wants to do this for a living.

Ellie Noble via Audrey Kawasaki's blog

I'm in awe of these photos. just awe.

That's my first Fav Friday post! And onto my want... haha!

**
Okay, I really want this pair of two tone brown oxfords from UO''s website. I've done my searching and can't find anything that is my size or the style I want. I know I would wear them all the time, because really, look how many times I wear my red oxfords... Like almost daily? And they would be great to ride my bike in... Oh I want.

So I set a mini goal for myself to see if I'm worthy of these babies. First off, I've been pretty good about not buying too many clothes this past month (I did buy quite a bit of socks and tights). And I started on Wednesday the rule I have to ride at least 12 miles a day (which is to work and back). And I have to finish my freelance work this weekend. And I have to actually post the feature that I've been working on for months now (I hope you like it). I also have bunches of presents to send out! Ah!

So if I get these goals met by Monday, I'm getting me some new oxfords. Yum. And it'll be perfect timing for my secret outing at the end of the month. Yay!

Black 'n Blue 'n Brown

This was my easy go to outfit for Monday. Not entirely creative but with some color. So yeah, just like that it's face value. I haven't worn this skirt in awhile so I got it out, it was one of my first good clothes purchases after college. I got it for a bunch of serious interviews in December... But since then it's really just been hanging out in the closet. I'm sorry pretty skirt.

That first picture is actually the size of real trees... but you see I live in a Giant's neighborhood, so even though everything looks normal size to me it's actually scaled for Giants, you know giant trees and giant houses. Just thought you should know.

Outfit }
Sweater } BDG from UO, $10
  Blouse } Target, $5
  Belt } Anthropologie, $5
  Skirt } BCBG Max Azria
Tights } Target, $5 (they just released a ton of $5 tights and they are really good)
Shoes } Target, from years and years ago.

Lauren

** Oh and I entered a contest on Ebay's Lookbook! Please go and vote, and for some reason two of my photos uploaded... will have to get one taken down. But yeah, go vote! **

Tripp Tuesdays } Who's Afraid of the Robot?

To my surprise I came home on Friday to a Robot name Gog who was terrorizing my dog. Gog was using our bicycles and even slid down our porch slide. Tripp yelped and yelped at this terrible beast and soon enough triumphed over the metallic being. Thank goodness that robot won't be stealing anymore medicine from old people.

S&U On Tour } The Henry Ford

Mmmmm... Faygo Rock n Rye.

This weekend was great and sad, Mike moved out, but Jen and Matt moved in! And Mike made it to London safely, I'm jealous that he lives across from Tate Modern.... On saturday Kevin finally sold his old Monte Carlo, I was lazy and at night Pritch, Kev and I played Halo... I am very bad at video games haha!

That's one big train. Biggin'

Camping please? Yes, Hippy style.

I wish I had that many friends so we could test this bikes turn radius.

Today Kevin and I went on an adventure to the Henry Ford Museum. We decided to dress all proper like and explore in style. Kevin wore a cardigan I bought him and tie. I decided to tryout a modern industrialist style. I really liked it :D We turned some heads too. We ate in the Michigan cafe which was amazing, it had alot of local food like Faygo in glass bottles and Kevin had whitefish.

Kennedy's car... the roof was added later.

"Hey guess what I'm standing in front of?" Lauren gabbed on her iPhone, "A whole bunch of phones! How ironic!"

Kevin watches the generator spin 'round and 'round. It's pretty big, and in real life would have been going ten times the speed, it's like 150 years old too.

I'm jumping in this generator!!! You can't stop me signs!
Lauren listens to the news broadcast about the Martians taking over and Kevin practices his "Duck and Cover" skills at school

After we saw all the feats in industry we stopped back by the cafe to snack on some local ice cream. It was so yummy.

I'm in love with this color blue and this stairwell, I want them both in my bedroom.

On the way home we stopped by H&M  and Kevin got a button up shirt and some amazing olive green corduroy pants... I may steal them. So yeah... awesome day. And that last picture... Isn't Kev so cute? He thinks he looked silly wearing the hat like that. I think he looks handsome, he's such a little model.

Sorry for the heavy heavy image use on this post, Kevin and I just had so much fun and took a ton of pictures. You can see the rest here on my flickr.

Happy October

Well I had another image in mind but this will suffice. Halloween of '08. I was Nurse Chapel and Kevin was Spock, yes he had the ears. I can't believe this was almost two years ago... weird. We had only been in that house for a few months, we've been in our current house for since December and it isn't as organized as that place was... oh well things change when everyone works full time.

Well anyway.

Happy October!!!
